Allen & Joy were formed in 1991 following
the amalgamation of two smaller, long established firms,
wishing to combine their individual expertise in works
for local authorities and public utilities on the one
hand and principally private clients and restoration works
on the other.
The company gained various contracts both long and short-term
with many diverse clients and, in late 1996, following
a significant expansion, they re-located to their present
half acre freehold location in central Lewes. At around
the same time the ownership of the firm changed in part
and the company expanded into Scaffolding. This facet
of the firm has since become one of the leading local
scaffolding suppliers, offering a professional and reliable
service to many local contractors as well as providing
the building side with a valuable asset to enable access
quickly to their own works.
Our present location, in the heart of Sussex, allows us
to provide a faster, more reliable service to many more
clients, both old and new, and has helped us attract more
contracts, both on the private and the maintenance side.
We naturally address the Health and Safety issues within
today's more vigilant construction industry. Together
with our comprehensive Company Health and Safety Policy,
we maintain strong links with our Health and Safety Advisors
and are members of C.I.T.B. Zurich Municipal Building
Guarantee Scheme and are approved' contractors with Constructionline.
The Company actively promotes Management and Staff training
and with the help of C.I.T.B. is constantly reviewing
company and individual requirements.
The company's turnover has increased from around £0.5
million to around £2.0 million at present, with
further expansion forecast in the foreseeable future.
We offer a 24-hour call-out service to all of our clients,
365 days a year. |
